People go on vacations for many different reasons, some personal and others to impact a group, like friends or family. One of the best things about a vacation is that it allows your mind to be stimulated by constant positivity. With new surroundings and fresh experiences, taking a vacation inspires creativity and can be a welcome change to an otherwise mundane mental sphere. For people who work long hours and have to endure tiresome, unrelenting commutes, the prospect of becoming burnt out is extremely high. Burn out and stress affects more than just your happiness but they can both play major roles in having adverse effects on your health. High stress levels can quickly be alleviated by an escape from the routines of your everyday life as it gives you the opportunity to clear your mind and regroup. Another wonderful aspect of taking a vacation is the positive impact it can have on your existing relationships. Be it your marriage or just your relationship with your children, the opportunity to build new bonds and to strengthen old ones while having fun and creating memories at the same time is a great way to keep your relationships healthy.

Here’s a tip for a last minute vacation that will put your smiles into high gear this year!

  1. Give everyone in your vacationing party the opportunity to contribute meaningful suggestions on what to do on your trip. So often the older kids and older folks get to decide on the agenda that younger kids feel left out. Make it a project that has to be done over a weekend or even in one night and let your kids present a dynamic, fun filled, information packed presentation on what they want to do for one day on your trip. Let them know the importance of details and the accuracy of their research so they not only develop responsibility but they will have a better understanding of the process that you have to go through to plan a trip, albeit an impromptu one, in its entirety.
